Finca La Tejonera

This lovely farmhouse, on a 7 hectare farm in the heart of the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park, Huelva province, western Andalusia, welcomes you to quiet countryside only an hour and a half from Seville and, on the other side, from the undiscovered luminous sandy beaches of Huelva,Costa de la Luz.
Our farm stands 1.5 km from the pretty village of Santa Ana la Real and 18 km from Aracena, the capital of the Sierra. Access is easy, along a 300m track leading from the main road HU 8105 joining Santa Ana to Alájar. Although unpaved, the track is perfectly maintained and no problem for cars.
Our house is double-storied: The ground floor consists of a spacious living-dining room, fully equipped kitchen, large pantry, laundry room, one bedroom, and a bathroom. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. A study with separate entrance stands to one side of the pantry.
Thoughtful design and careful planning have made this a most comfortable home. Well-insulated, it is warm in winter and cool in summer, with large double-glazed windows ( also with mosquito gauze). The floors and wall tiles are hand-made, from Granada, giving a cosy rustic atmosphere which is amplified in winter by the wood-burning stove, open fireplace and radiators heating all the rooms. The kitchen includes an electric cooker with oven, dishwasher, microwave and all the necessary pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Each bedroom has been tastefully decorated and all have built-in cupboards.
Guests will especially enjoy the long summer evenings on the wide veranda, offering tranquil views of the surrounding hills and pleasant garden. On one side there is a safe play area for children.
Based in this delightful home, you have easy access to 4 beautiful walks through the Sierra de Aracena to the neighbouring villages of Alájar, Aguafría, Castaño del Robelo and Santa Ana la Real, which despite its small size, has recently become an important centre for Nordic walking.

For wild mushroom enthusiasts, we have many delicious varieties nearby, but it is vital to check your gatherings with local experts to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Walks can be organised with a expert local guide or you can wend you own way following the trails, which are all well marked, in the footsteps of those who have enjoyed this marvellous countryside since before the time of the Romans.

Your stay among chestnuts, holm and cork oaks and poplars whispering in the soft breeze along the edge of the bubbling stream which runs close by, will leave you refreshed and relaxed and surely looking forward to a return visit.
