Galerio

Galerio is the result of running art galleries in the Algarve for many years. It all started 2003 with the cosy gallery PORCA PRETA as part of an old hamlet near Monchique. Book author Rolf Osang restored the houses and turned them into a magnet for people who loved enjoying nature, art and get-together.
In 2009 he organized the international art fairs called ARTE ALGARVE in the Expo in Loulé.2010 he moved the location of this highlight of Fine Arts in Algarve to the Centro de Congressos do Arade near Lagoa. Seventy painters, photographers and sculptors presented their latest works, and thousands of visitors flocked in to meet the artists in this most impressive showcase of contemporary art. For Rolf Osang, the consequences were evident: The region needed a bridge to connect the shores.
On the one are the artists, and on the other many art lovers, keen to find art which originated in the Algarve, Europe’s sunniest region, which more and more people from all over the world discover as the ideal destination for homes and vacations.
In 2011 he opened the Galeria ARTE ALGARVE in the Adega Cooperativa in Lagoa and run it till the end of 2015. In May 2016 he opened another big gallery exactly it the place where the „big thing“ had started: in the Centro de Congressos do Arade. But this wonderful gallery, flooded by natural light, is not only an art gallery. It is the hub for many cultural events and puts the prize winning modern building near the Rio Arade on the map as a Center of Culture. Fantastic concerts, theater, Jazz brunch, parties and lots of events attract people from near and far. And in October 2016, the great event of an International Art Fair will revive under the name ARTE ATLÂNTICO.
