João Rôlo Couture

Being present at all stages, from the design to the tailoring itself, is not achievable for everyone. And surrounding the presentation of the work with glamour and refinement, even less. This is the constant goal that João Rôlo has been pursuing and reaching over the last 32 years of his career.

Deeply attracted by Design, wich he was never apart from, he started very young at the School of Decorative Arts Antonio Arroio, in Lisbon and attended the Interior Equipment Course. Two years later he chose to attend Textile Engineering where, for the first time, he was faced with the fascinating world of fabrics and Fashion. He decides then to create his own brand.

He opened his first store and Atelier de Couture in the 80s, and privileges the personalized service up to the present day. He studies the customer's profile and creates the model, depending on the characteristics not only physical but psychological of each one. Clearing it’s aesthetic and technical concept. Three years after the opening, he performs his great dream ... His first show of Haute Couture! Fashion and show were finally connected!

Then everything comes naturally... For several years he’s been responsible for a Portuguese brand of sunglasses and prescription glasses design. Then, another Portuguese brand invites him to realize the design of a collection of carpets, bedding, towels and ceramics. Thus was born the brand "João Rôlo Home Collection". In partnership with other companies, he creates collections of furniture, sofas, mattresses, paintings and porcelains, for sale in several countries. This line proved to be a success and positioned the brand at an International level.
