Justiça Internacional - Ministério da Justiça de Portugal

O Gabinete de Relações Internacionais (GRI), assegura o desenvolvimento das acções necessárias ao exercício das competências do Minsitério da Justiça no domínio das relações externas, competindo-lhe:

a) Acompanhar e apoiar a política internacional do Estado Português no domínio da justiça, coordenado a representação do Ministério da Justiça na negociação de convenções, acordos e tratados internacionais, bem como em comissões, reuniões, conferências ou organizações similares;

b) Preparar os elementos de apoio para a definição das políticas no domínio da justiça, no âmbito da União Europeia;

c) Analisar ou dar parecer sobre projectos ou propostas de legislação da União Europeia no âmbito da justiça, acompanhar e apoiar tecnicamente a transposição para o direito interno das directivas e das decisões-quadro na área da Justiça e acompanhar, em geral, a introdução na ordem interna da legislação da União Europeia;

d) Acompanhar as questões relativas ao Pré-Contencioso e ao contencioso comunitários nas matérias de justiça;

e) Coordenar as relações do Ministério da Justiça com as diferentes instituições comunitárias;

f) Preparar os elementos necessários para a definição da política de cooperação do Ministério da Justiça e assegurar a sua execução;

g) Recolher e estudar as normas de direito internacional e de direito da União Europeia aplicáveis ou em relação às quais o Estado Português se pretenda vincular, bem como estudar e divulgar a jurisprudência, a doutrina e a política.

The International Affairs Department, briefly referred to as IAD, shall ensure the development of the actions required to the exercise of the DGJP competences within the scope of international affairs, and is entrusted to:

a) Follow up and assist the Portuguese State international policy within the justice sphere, coordinating the Ministry of Justice’s representation in the negotiations of conventions, agreements and international treaties, as well as in the commissions, meetings, conferences or similar organizations;

b) Prepare the by-elements to help define the justice policy within the European Union scope;

c) Analyse or draw up opinions on projects or on European Union’s legislative proposals in the justice scope, to follow up and technically assist in the implementation, into the domestic order, of directives and framework-decisions in the justice sphere and, in general, to follow up on the implementation of the European Union’s legislation into the internal order;

d) Follow up on the community pre-litigious and litigious issues regarding justice matters;

e) Coordinate the Ministry of Justice’s relations with the different community institutions;

f) Prepare the elements required for the definition of the Ministry of Justice’s policy and cooperation and ensure its execution;

g) Collect and study international law and applicable European Union law norms, or those in relation to which the Portuguese State wishes to be bound, as well as to study and disclose community case-law, doctrine and policy for the sector.
