Monte da Chaminé aims to provide hands-on training on stone carving. Welcoming everyone, this residency is tailored for every individual student – learn a new technique or execute your project with a focused technical tuition.
The emphasis of the program is on the technical aspects of stone carving. Attending participants will gain a broader understanding of the material and its potential. Participants will leave the Summer School with a complete stone carving skill set.
The Summer School is hosted in Monte da Chaminé, a converted farmhouse located between Safara and Sobral da Adiça, Portugal. Taking full advantage of the house and workspace, the venue hosts up to 8 people, guarantying a personal approach to each participant.
Having access to a broad range of knowledge and tools, the Summer School offers technical knowledge for a sculptor's pristine stone carving.
