THE ENGLISH ACADEMY is a language school with a difference. Specialising in all types of English courses for people of all ages and in particular, in the preparation of the Cambridge exams, the Academy provides you with teachers who are all highly qualified in ESL, possess the CAP certificate and have vast experience in teaching. However, English is not our only forte. THE ENGLISH ACADEMY has a number of services, including Portuguese for foreigners, other foreign languages, school tutorials (ALL subjects) and the organisation of language courses abroad.

THE ENGLISH ACADEMY é uma escola de línguas com uma diferença. Especializando em todos os tipos de cursos de Inglês para todas as idades, e em particular, na preparação dos exames do Cambridge, a Academia contém professores que são altamente qualificados em ensinar Inglês como uma segunda língua, possuem o certificado CAP e têm uma vasta experiência no ensino. Contudo, Inglês não é o único forte. THE ENGLISH ACADEMY tem vários serviços, incluindo Português para estrangeiros, outras línguas estrangeiras, explicações escolares (TODOS as disciplinas) e a organização de cursos no estrangeiro.

About the DIRECTOR...

Born and bred in Leeds, in the North of England, Victoria is a very proud British citizen.
Having finished university in 2000, graduating in English and Theatre Studies, Victoria moved to Northern Portugal to pursue her teaching career and has been an ESL teacher ever since. Working in many different institutions and companies, teaching all ages and levels, she has built up a vast CV.
In 2012, after having worked for others for 12 years, she decided to embark on her next challenge and opened up her own school, THE ENGLISH ACADEMY, something she had been thinking about doing for several years. For this venture, Victoria has had to turn her hand to many new things, principally the general day-to-day running of the Academy but continues to be the principal English teacher, which she considers to be her most important role. However, she believes that having both these responsibilities is essential as it helps in identifying the necessities of the academy and of the students, making it easier to resolve any problems quickly and efficiently.


Sobre a DIRETORA...

A Victoria nasceu e cresceu em Leeds, no norte de Inglaterra, e tem muito orgulho de ser Inglesa.
Depois de ter acabado a faculdade em 2000, formando-se em Inglês e Teatro. Mudou-se para o norte de Portugal para perseguir a sua carreira em ensino e é professora de Inglês como uma segunda língua, desde então. Ela tem trabalhado em várias instituições e empresas, ensinando todas as idades e todos os níveis, e tem construido um vasto currículo.
Em 2012, depois de trabalhar para outros durante 12 anos, decidiu embarcar num novo desafio e abriu a sua própria escola, THE ENGLISH ACADEMY, uma coisa que queria fazer há vários anos. Para esta aventura, a Victoria teve que se adaptar a diferentes tarefas, principalmente a gerir a academia mas continua a ser a professora principal de Inglês, que ela considera o papel mais importante. Contudo, ter as duas responsabilidades é fulcral, uma vez que é mais fácil reconhecer as necessidades da Academia e dos alunos, facilitando a resolução dos problemas de uma forma rápida e eficaz.
