A PIA - Projectos de Intervenção Artística, surge em Maio de 2002 em Pinhal Novo, enquanto plataforma profissional direccionada para as Artes Performativas de Rua.
De carácter multidisciplinar, as suas criações abordam o Teatro Físico, enquanto a linguagem corporal como movimento primordial e base para a dramaturgia, construindo formas compreensíveis ao imaginário colectivo; o Novo Circo recorrendo de forma singular com noção e perfeito domínio de técnicas aéreas, em especial as Andas; a Plasticidade Estética que explora o conceito da Instalação, na sua capacidade de transformação e percepção do espaço público, efemeridade num lugar, que lhe permita absorver as singularidades, tornando-a por um lado única nos diferentes meios onde passa, mas ao mesmo tempo com diferentes significados a partir da sua essência e do que ela desperta em quem a vê..

Direccionando as suas obras para o Espaço Público como escolha (e não necessariamente uma ausência de alternativa), a PIA assume a RUA um como um "estado de consciência", um “palco” por excelência, pela sua mais directa forma de alcance de um processo artístico junto das populações, uma vitalidade às relações sociais, onde são possíveis outras ligações, através da integração de arte, onde, à primeira vista não há nenhuma, que torna possível a proximidade e acessibilidade do público às artes, e alcançável, o trabalho desta companhia, a qualquer cidadão do mundo, independentemente de divisões sociais, raciais ou religiosas.

Desde 2007 integra, como Parceira e no aconselhamento à programação, o FIG - Festival Internacional de Gigantes, um festival inédito de Formas Animadas tradicionais, de cruzamento entre as artes tradicionais e as expressões artísticas mais contemporâneas.
É responsável desde 2008 pela Direcção Artística do CIÊNCIA NA RUA Festival Internacional de Ciência e Arte, organizado pelo Centro de Ciência Viva de Estremoz, como um evento único que promove o cruzamento de linguagens artísticas e científicas, transformando anualmente a cidade de Estremoz num palco aberto à experimentação e criatividade, fundamentando, inspirando e melhor dando a conhecer os processos científicos, através do Universo do Imaginário.
Ambos os festivais reconhecidos recentemente com o Selo de Qualidade EFFE Europe For Festivals | Festivals For Europe.

Com mais de 14 anos de existência, o trabalho da companhia é fundamentalmente marcado pelos diversos projectos a que, mais de 100 artistas e técnicos, deram vida, e com o seu excelente trabalho, os passaram do esboço à realidade.
Estes projectos performativos já passaram por diversas "ruas" na Europa, Ásia e América do Sul, sendo estas mais de 200 distintas regiões nacionais e internacionais, que contribuíram e influenciaram fortemente, o contínuo crescimento e solidificação deste colectivo.
Deste seu percurso internacional destacam-se a participação no Festival Iberoameticano de Teatro de Bogotá (Colômbia); o Kotor International Theater Festival for Children onde recebeu pela ASSITEJ MONTENEGRO International Association of Theaters for Children and Young People, a Menção Especial pela relevância artística do projecto PASSAGEM e novo patamar de sensibilidade alcançado; o FETA International Street and Open-Air Theater Festival of Gdansk (Polónia), onde recebeu por Anna Jazgarska a crítica de melhor espectáculo da edição de 2014 do festival na Magazine de Teatro e Performance Teatralny.pl; o Convite em 2011 e 2013 pelo Instuto Cultural de Macau para a criação de um Espectáculo com entidades locais nas Comemorações de Entrega de Macau à China; entre muitos outros.

The Cia. PIA - Projectos de Intervenção Artística, was founded in May of 2002, in Pinhal Novo Village (Portugal), as a professional platform directed for the Street Performing Arts.
With a Multidisciplinary character, the creations of this company address the Physical Theater, the body language as the primary basis for the motion and drama , building comprehensible forms to the collective imagination, defining a more visceral and live theater, in motion, where the placement of the moving body is as important as the voice within a theater with text; the New Circus using in a singular way with sense and perfect domain the aerial techniques, in particular the Stilts; the Aesthetics Plasticity that explores the concept of Installation, in its processing capacity of the public space perception, in its ephemerality within a place, that allows to absorb the singularities, making it unique on the different paths that cross, but at the same time with different meanings from its essence and from what it awakens on those who see it;

Directing it's pieces to the public space as a choice (not necessarily as a lack of alternative), PIA assumes the STREET as a "state of consciousness," a "stage" for excellence, for its most direct way to reach a artistic process among the populations, a vitality to social relations, where are possible other links through the integration of art, which, at first sight there is none, making possible the proximity and accessibility of the public to the arts, and achievablethe the work of this company, to any citizen of the world, regardless social, racial or religious divisions.

It is since 2007 that PIA includes, the Programming Team as artistic consultation for street theater performances for FIG - International Festival of Giants (Portugal), an unprecedented festival of animated traditional forms, that cross the traditional arts with the most contemporary artistic expressions.
Responsible for the Artistic Direction of CIÊNCIA NA RUA International Festival of Science and Art, organized by Centro Ciência Viva de Estremoz, PIA contributes to a unique event, that focus on the development of working relationships between artists and scientists from different areas, leading to the creation of testing and experimentation spaces to new creative processes, that annually takes place, on the historic streets of Estremoz City (Portugal).
Both of these festivals were recently recognized with the Quality Label EFFE Europe For Festivals | Festivals For Europe.

With more than 14 years of existence, PIA’s work is fundamentally marked by the several projects, that more than 100 artists and technicians, gave life with their excellent work, contributing for making them pass from the sketch to the reality.
These performative projects have gone through various lands in Europe, Asia and South America, and it was these more than 200 different national and international regions that have contributed and influenced strongly the continuous growth and consolidation of this group.
Of this international path stands out the participation in International Theater Festival of Bogotá (Colombia), in Kotor International Theater Festival for Children where it received by ASSITEJ MONTENEGRO International Association of Theaters for Children and Young People, the Special Mention with PASSAGE project for artistic relevance and new sensitivity level achieved;; in FETA International Street and Open-Air Theater Festival of Gdansk (Poland), where it get the critical by Anna Jazgarska for the best proposal for the 2014 festival edition, published in the Magazine of Theatre and Performance Teatralny.pl; the Invitation in 2011 and 2013 by the Macau Cultural Instute to create a Show with the local artistic groups the ambit of the Anniversary Celebrations of the Delivery of Macau to China.
