Natural de Guimarães, António Loureiro iniciou a carreira em 1994, passou por vários restaurantes - nacionais e internacionais - com estrelas Michelin e dirigiu a cozinha de alguns dos melhores Hotéis de Portugal.

Em 2014, ‘o sabor, aroma, criatividade, intensidade e respeito pela essência dos ingredientes’ valeram-lhe o primeiro lugar na prestigiada competição Chefe Cozinheiro do Ano.

In the heart of Guimarães, a new concept was born. ‘A Cozinha por António Loureiro' – literally meaning ‘The Kitchen by António Loureiro’ – where creativity and tradition are mixed to please your senses.

Surrounded by the historic center of the city, and inspired by Portuguese flavors, the restaurant promises modern, creative and sustainable food.

Guiding the rhythm of seasons, recipes are connected to nature and based in local ingredients, combining the sophistication of Antonio Loureiro’s signature cuisine with the tasty simplicity of Portugal traditional culinary art.

The restaurant space is divided into the main room, a special table and outdoor terrace, including also an organic garden for aromatics and veggies.

Born and raised in Guimarães, António Loureiro fell in love with the cuisine since early age.

Throughout his career, which begun in 1994, he has worked in several renowed starred restaurants as Belcanto**, The Kitchin* and Azurmendi***. Also has directed the kitchen of some of the best Portugal Hotels.

In 2014, 'the taste, smell, creativity, intensity and respect for the essence of the ingredients' gave him the first place in the prestigious competition ‘Chef of the Year’ only directed for culinary professionals.

That principles are the foundations of António Loureiro’s gastronomic philosophy.
