A Lovely Portuguese Villa with 4 bedrooms/2 & half bathrooms and a swimming pool set on a hill on the edge of a quiet village overlooking the ocean with a top surfing beach:

OUTSIDE

Outside kitchen area together with brick built BBQ and patio furniture. There is a swimming pool with small flower beds to the side. Both main bedrooms have a balcony. The house is screened for privacy. Car hire is recommended to make the most of your stay however our house manager Rita will provide you with airport pick ups and a taxi facility for about half the usual private hire rate. Buses are also available to Lourinha from Lisbon.

Please note that the pool is 1m to 2 m deep so children must be supervised at all times

ZAMBUJEIRA VILLAGE

This charming and genuine Portuguese village offers shops, bars, cafes (most have Wi-Fi) and a hairdressers which are all within a 5 min walk. Close by the village there are 3 large supermarkets (including Lidl and Intermarche)
There is a new restaurant and café bar at the far end of the village (5 min walk) which provides delightful local cuisine as really bargain prices. A round of 4 decent drinks is under 5 euros in the village and only slightly more expensive at the beach bars.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE AREA
AREIA BRANCA: The waves of Areia Branca Beach are among the best for either learning or engaging in either surfing or body boarding. Many Portuguese people from the surrounding areas choose this resort for their August holidays. The beach is watched by lifeguards on duty, and offers sun-shades for rental for a small fee. Those who want to distance themselves from the most crowded areas only have to walk one or two bays down the beach where they will find a bay for themselves
Antiques Fair, Used, Crafts and Collectibles (Thursdays, from June 2 to September 1, from 08.00 to 19.00). There is a beautiful beach promenade with lots of small cafes and good restaurants. If you are not up to sitting at a restaurant, there is a daily a market (mornings except Mondays) where you can buy fresh fish for your home barbecue.
LOURINHÃ (5 mins drive) Municipal market in Lourinhã open every day from 9:00 to 13:00 (closed on Mondays), bus station, shops, restaurants and bars. Lourinha is famous for its brandy. These natural conditions are ideal for various nautical sports and activities such as sports fishing, underwater fishing and photography, surfing and jet skiing. There are also Jurassic Museums as this is a big palaeontology region.

Plenty of quiet coves along the coast that are within easy reach. PRAIA DE AREIA BRANCA (beach of the white sand) beach close by with bars and restaurants, chip and put golf, go cart racing, and as this is a major wine region tours of the vineyards. During the summer months you can visit the bird and wildlife sanctuary on the Berlengas Islands, which can be reached by boat from nearby Peniche, surfing beaches at Baleal and Peniche and go-karting close by the village. There are many wonderful fish restaurants by the harbour in Peniche and fabulous value for money.

PENICHE and a short distance from beautiful towns and historic cities, it offers breath-taking landscapes and tourist sites, like monuments, artefacts and thermal spas. Enjoy the Portuguese Cuisine, a mixture of European with Oriental flavour. Local bars with atmosphere overlooking the ocean and give you a lively night experience. Berlengas' island, a National Park, is worth a visit. The region mixing rural with a fishing atmosphere, close to cities yet quiet and peaceful with a heady mixture of villages featuring quiet bars and aromatic restaurants next to curio shops to complement the stunning views.

The stunning medieval walled city of OBIDOS is a year round attraction and hosts the Festival of Chocolate in February, during the summer season there are outdoor concerts, medieval festival held in July and has stunning views, shops and restaurants next to beautifully painted churches provides an unforgettable day out. There is also a market held every Saturday morning during the summer season..
