A wonderful 300 year old farmhouse that has been lovingly and carefully modernised. We offer private, luxurious, self-catering accommodation with two double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and private sitting rooms.
The Wine Room used to be the old bodega but has been carefully turned into a lovely bedroom with the original wine press still in place. The room where the birds used to nest - we call it The Birds Nest – has a calm quiet atmosphere. Both bedrooms have television´s.
If you are looking for peace and quiet – a rare taste of rural Portugal as it used to be - and wonderful surroundings, look no further than Covas. Ideal for people wanting a quiet holiday, interested in enjoying and exploring the unspoiled Alto Minho.
We have a fully equipped kitchen and dining area in The Sun Room and in front there is a large patio with a picnic table and barbecue.
We have decorated the house with the many pieces of art and crafts we have acquired during our time working in various parts of the world, we hope that this gives you the same pleasure it gives us.
The whole area is centrally heated, warm in the winter but cool in the summer.
We have a large collection of books which you are welcome to borrow and we also have a good collection of DVD´s if you would like to watch a film in the evening, DVD-players are available.

Viana do Castelo, the 'capital town' of the Minho is about 40 minutes drive from Covas, a lovely historic city with all major shopping conveniences, restaurants and beaches. Other lovely small towns and villages are nearby and all along the coast there are wonderful beaches, in about a 30 minutes drive from Covas.

The Spanish border is in less than a 30 minute drive north from Covas, where the charming port city Vigo in Spain has everything to offer and further north is the beautiful, historic city of Santiago de Compostela, where most “pilgrims” end their walk – see the information about the Camino on this link http://www.santiago-compostela.net/
