Padaria Central

Fundada em 1926, a Padaria Central, Flor dos Paposecos, situada num prédio de interessante arquitetura centenária, pertence à família Amélio há algumas gerações. Nesta padaria antiga e tradicional, Gilberto Amélio, padeiro por vocação e devoção, cozia o pão em forno de lenha e confecionava deliciosos pães de torresmos e pequenas arrufadas cobertas de açucar, com um travo a limão e erva-doce.

Em 1975, sucedeu-lhe o seu único filho Adelino Alberto Amélio, que remodelou e aumentou a área de fabrico, trazendo alguma modernidade ao estabelecimento.

Na década de 80, a sua esposa Teresa Maria Sousa Dias, possuidora de grande espírito empreendedor, introduziu o fabrico próprio de pastelaria variada e biscoitaria, trazendo ao estabelecimento um novo fôlego de prosperidade. Atualmente, ao lado da sua mãe, Paula Amélio assegura "sangue novo", iniciativa e ambição.

A Padaria Central é conhecida pela sua afamada pastelaria salgada e doce e pelos seus biscoitos e bolos secos com sabor a amêndoa, coco e canela. Entre outras especialidades da casa, destaque para o Bolo Rei na sua versão mais tradicional ou nas versões mais inovadoras, e para os folares da Páscoa, feitos a preceito e à semelhança de outros tempos.

Na Padaria Central tudo é feito como no tempo dos nossos avós, com "ovos de casca" e ingredientes naturais e servido num ambiente familiar, onde cada cliente é único e especial.


Founded in 1926, the Central Bakery, “Flor dos Paposecos”, located in an interesting century-old architecture building belongs to Amelio family for several generations. In this old traditional bakery, Gilberto Amelio, baker by vocation and devotion, baked bread in a wood oven and delicious breads stuffed with greaves and small brioches covered with sugar, with a tang of lemon and fennel.

In 1975, he was succeeded by his only son Adelino Alberto Amelio, who remodeled and increased the area of manufacturing, bringing some modernity to the establishment.

In the 80s, his wife Maria Teresa Sousa Dias, owner of a great entrepreneurial spirit, introduced the home-made pastries and biscuits, bringing to the establishment a new breath of prosperity. Now, working with her mother, Paula Amelio ensures "new blood", initiative and ambition.

The Central Bakery is known for its renowned salty and sweet pastry and its biscuits and cookies flavored with almonds, coconut and cinnamon. Among other specialties of the house, there is the King Cake in the traditional version or in the most innovative versions, and the Easter Cakes made to perfection and like in older times.

In Central Bakery, everything is done as in the time of our grandparents, with real eggs and natural ingredients and served in a family atmosphere, where every customer is unique and special.
