Winemakers in Douro for more than two hundred years, Quinta Vila Rachel is producing wines capable of expressing the high-quality terroir and varieties of the region.

Portugal is one of the top 10 wine producers in the World and its wines are gaining further international recognition constantly by being awarded in the most prestigious contests, mostly because of their indigenous grape varieties that are unique in the world. The most important Portuguese red grape varieties are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca e Tinta Roriz.
Portugal also has the oldest wine appellation in the world, the Douro Demarcated Region in Douro Valley, established in the middle of the eighteenth century. The region has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, a high distinction that consecrates this country as one of the most beautiful in the world.
