Rustic Yurts

Beautiful hand made Mongolian style yurts using locally sourced wood. We use Acacia for the frame which is a fast growing tree found commonly throughout Central Portugal, by using this wood we help to slow the spread of this invasive species. The Khanas (wall poles) are steam bent to give an attractive and distinctive curve to the outside of the yurt, the Uni (roof poles)) are kept straight and fit into a decorative hard-wood Tono (crown). The door frame is made from Chestnut, an extremely strong and durable wood. There are a variety of options available for the door and window, please see Our Yurts for more details. We use 12oz polycotton rip-stop canvas for the walls and roof cover, this is much stronger than traditional cotton canvas, the canvas is water proofed and rot resistant. All our yurts come with a 20mm layer of natural insulation and an inner liner as standard. We are currently able to make the following size yurts - 12ft, 14ft, 16ft and 18ft.

A yurt can be used for a variety of purposes such as a temporary or even permanent home, workshop, classroom, yoga space, glamping rental or anything else your imagination can conceive!
