São Rosas

Situado junto ao Castelo de Estremoz, o São Rosas faz alusão à conhecida Lenda do Milagre das Rosas atribuído à Rainha Santa Isabel, que transformou o pão em flores. O São Rosas abriu as portas em 1994, pelas mãos de Margarida Cabaço e é hoje reconhecido a nível nacional e internacional. Dedica-se à cozinha portuguesa, dando destaque à cozinha tradicional alentejana.

Located near the Castle of Estremoz, the São Rosas restaurant takes its name from the well-known legend of Saint Elizabeth of Portugal and the Miracle of the Roses. The legend says Queen Elizabeth was giving bread to the poor against the will of King Denis. When the King discovered her deed, he asked her to show him the bread she was hiding. The Queen answered: “They are roses” (São Rosas) and as she said so, the bread transformed into flowers.
São Rosas opened in 1994 thanks to Margarida Cabaco and is today a multi-award winning restaurant, recognized both nationally and internationally.
São Rosas is dedicated to Portuguese cuisine and highlights the traditional cuisine of Alentejo.
