“Seres” in Latin means “Silk”. China in ancient times was called the “Silk Country” because of its manufacture of silk. During the Khan dynasty about 2000 years ago China became famous for the manufacture, production and export of silk.
It was fashionable even then to wear silk in Greece and Rome and was taken as presents to the empire of Rome. Even Julius Caesar once wore a Chinese silk dress to visit a theatre.
People all over the world appreciate silk products and the hard work that goes into producing silk or “Seres” and reflects the wisdom, friendliness, dedication and honesty of the “Seres” people.
