More about UBI I Congress in Health Sciences Research

The aim of this innovative scientific congress is to build a bridge between the academic environment and the business world, bringing together basic science and industry in order to promote the exchange of experiences.

This first edition will be dedicated to the Endocrinology and Neurosciences research fields. Basic and applied research on these subjects are crucial for the development of new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches that are required to face the growing incidence of endocrine, neurological and neurodegenerative disorders.

This congress is organized by the PhD students’ commission, from the Health Sciences Research Centre of the University of Beira interior (CICS-UBI) that is a research unit associated with the Faculty of Health Sciences. The mission of CICS-UBI is to pursue integrated and multidisciplinary research focused on biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and biotechnology areas, to study and deepen the knowledge in physiological and pathological mechanisms of disease and find novel therapeutic approaches.

Many research projects are absolutely innovative and could jump from the bench into business opportunities, but most researchers often don’t know how to do it. This congress offers an excellent opportunity, to learn more about entrepreneurship, and integrate a network of upcoming challenges.

The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to this scientific event and looks forward to welcoming you to Covilhã. This pleasant city is located in the wonderful region of Serra da Estrela Natural Park providing an amazing scenario for an outstanding scientific discussion.
